This fault code code relates to the electrical circuit that connects to your fuel pressure regulator.

P0002 is a generic OBD code that indicates a problem with your engine's engine control module (ECM) receiving signals from your fuel pressure regulator on your fuel injection rail. This error may have an impact on fuel efficiency and may even cause engine damage.
It may potentially be linked to the P0001, P0003, or P0004 fault codes.
The definition of this DTC is; Fuel volume regulator control - circuit open, and the probable cause is either damaged wiring or the regulator control solenoid.
If a DTC is related to the powertrain, it will begin with the letter "P" when read by an OBD reader. Fault codes in the P0xxx format are generic fault codes.
What P0002 Means
P0002 is an uncommon fault code that typically appears on common rail diesel (CRD) and/or diesel engine cars, as well as vehicles with gasoline direct injection (GDI). The electrical system as part of the fuel volume regulation system is the target of this error code.
The fuel tank, pump, filter, lines, injectors, and other components of the fuel system work with high-pressure and low-pressure fuel pumps. Their duty is to boost fuel pressure to the levels required by the injectors at the fuel rail.
These high-pressure gasoline pumps feature a low and high pressure side, as well as a pressure-controlling fuel volume regulator. This code denotes an electrical reading that is outside of typical operating norms.
Possible Causes

Failed fuel volume regulator (FVR)
FVR wiring/harness electrical issue (a short, corrosion, etc)

How to Fix a P0002 Error Code
Below are some possible solutions and fixes to this error code. Make sure to use an advanced OBD scanner to properly diagnose this error code to avoid repairing a problem that doesn't actually exist.
To begin, look for Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for your year, make, and model. It may save you time and money during diagnosis if there is a recognised TSB that addresses this problem.
The next step is to visually check the fuel volume regulator circuit and system's cabling and connections.
Examine the wiring for visible fractures, corrosion, and other issues.
As needed, make repairs. The fuel volume regulator (FVR) is a two-wire device that connects to the PCM through both wires. If you use direct battery voltage on the cables, you risk damaging the system.
